As part of the Uganda Martyrs University Silver Jubilee celebrations, Uganda Martyrs University and Uganda Martyrs University Alumni Association (UMUAA) have organized the Bernard Onyango Memorial Lecture under the theme Higher Education at Crossroads: What Might Onyango Have Said?

Date: Thursday 20th September 2018

Venue: Protea Hotel, Kampala

Guest Speaker: Prof. Mary J.N. Okwakol Vice Chancellor, Busitema University.

Program:

Morning session: 10:00am to 2:00pm

(i)           Outdoor exhibition, showcasing the offerings and achievements of the University’s faculties as well as the entrepreneurial achievements of UMU alumni

(ii)           Career guidance sessions. This session targets Secondary School Students and the General Public.

Afternoon session: 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Memorial Lecture (hotel main conference hall)

The Late Bernard Onyango was the pioneer Academic Registrar at Uganda Martyrs University. It is in this context that the aforementioned Public Lecture was conceived as a special tribute in his honour.
