Associate professor Ryuen Hiramatsu, Department of Total Beauty, University of East Asia, Japan visits UMU
Dr. Ryuen Hiramatsu: Executive Director of Public Relations and Associate professor Department of Total Beauty; University of East Asia, Japan visited UMU on 4th March 2019. The visit follows collaboration established between UMU and University of East Asia (UEA), in 2017; and a visit of UMU staff to UEA in January last year (2018), in which more discussions on the collaboration were held and MOU a signed. That the MOU covers broad areas of exchange programmes for students and Japanese language training.
The purpose of Dr. Ryuen’s visit was to further the discussions to concretize the implementation of the exchange programme between the two institutions and to gather as much information as possible about UMU.
The collaboration aims to strengthen academic curricula of Universities, and enhance professional, educational and career development of students and staff; and focuses on the cultural and intellectual exchange of staff/professors and students, and aims at bringing about career and institutional development through class works and participation in research activities.
It shall involve students exchange programmes, staff visits, exchange and training, joint research and programme development, Japanese language training, and cultural exchange activities.
During his visit, he met with the VC, and held a meeting with Faculty members, from the targeted Faculties i.e. Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Institute of Languages and Communication Studies, Dean of Students and the Sports Department, and Department of ESD and Community Engagement. The meeting discussed the concept document that will guide the collaboration.
