Upon the request of Masaka Diocese, a Center was opened in Masaka Town. It started as a Coordinating Center for UMU Distance Learning (DL) programmes in the year 2005. Later in 2007, the Center was raised to the status of a Teaching Centre (Branch) for evening and weekend programmes in the premises of Masaka Social Centre – Bwala. The immediate catchment area consists of the eight districts which comprise Masaka Diocese: Masaka, Rakai, Kalangala, Ssembabule, Lyantonde, Lwengo, Bukomansimbi and Kalungu.
However, the Branch admits students from even beyond Masaka Diocese. Presently, there are students from Masindi, Mbarara, Kampala, Mbale districts, etc. Hostel accommodation is available at affordable costs and supervised by the Branch Administration.

- Master of Arts in Development Studies;
- Master of Business Administration;
- Master of Education;
- Bachelor of Business Administration and Management;
- Bachelor of Social Development and Counselling; and
- Diploma in Computer Science and Information Technology
