Fort Portal Campus

Uganda Martyrs Fort Portal Campus was born out of the quest of the people of the Renzori region to be allowed to contribute to the future trends of the University and to enable the people of this region to benefit from services of this great institution without having to travel the long distance to the main campus. Fort Portal Campus is unique in character. it was born out of the existing institution and the desire of the people to have an education that makes one a job creator

Located at Kinyamasika Virika hills in Fort Portal town, Portal Campus was founded with a mission to produce graduates with practical and entrepreneurial skills that are supported by the existing infrastructure and experience. St. Joseph’s technical institute’s long experience of offering training in practical skills provides a home for the polytechnic, emphasizing the promotion of applied sciences. thus our emphasis is on programmers’ that offer hands on practical courses like mechanical engineering, metal fabrication, engine works, water and sanitation, plumbing and IT etc.

Bishop Magambo Counselor Training Institute which was for ten years an affiliate of Uganda Martyrs University is one of the institutes that not only train mental health counselors but also gives the campus a unique character which we hope will be adopted by other high institutions of learning in the country.

Portal Campus is answer to Uganda’s current unemployment crisis. The campus addresses the National vision to provide skills for economic development. Thus Portal Campus will train students to be job creators.
